In my classroom, I use woodworking as a vehicle to afford students the chance to learn through the use of their hands. It gives them the opportunity to be fully engaged in the moment with their body and their mind. They get to experience their body moving, muscle groups working together while doing real honest work. Woodworking also lends itself well to teaching quick one-on-one lessons on any given subject when the opportunity presents itself.
